Role

At AXON Communications, we are looking for an experienced, dynamic, proactive and responsible Account Director who would be able to hit the ground running. Within this role you will need to have prior medical communications knowledge, hold senior account management responsibilities, in addition to the management of team members. You will provide clients with effective counsel, be responsible for challenging briefs, and ensure quality control throughout the processes while recommending innovative and strategic solutions. You will be an advocate for AXON and increase business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will be dependent upon level, but will include:

  • Strong client liaison and strategic counsel in leading accounts
  • Planning and management of multiple accounts, including development of communications programs, strategies and creative tactics with senior support as needed
  • Leading tactical implementation of events and initiatives with adherence to compliance and quality assurance of projects and deliverables
  • Ensuring account profitability through sound financial management, including budget development, tracking and reconciliation
  • Building and developing cohesive client teams, instilling high standards to ensure exceptional quality is met
  • Management, mentoring and monitoring the long-term career development of team members as well as playing a lead role on internal activities such as recruitment and delivering training
  • Identifying and developing business opportunities with clients
  • Collaborating with all offices across the AVENIR GLOBAL network

Candidates must have:

  • At least 7 to 9 years’ proven experience to demonstrate key competencies at this level, having worked with line manager/s to address gaps and provide relevant opportunities
  • The ability to confidently lead client accounts/projects and have strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and re-prioritize appropriately, delegate and balance wide-ranging and multiple tasks, while being aware of the activities of other account teams and therefore overall team capacity
  • Strong financial, timeline management, strategic and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent writing skills, and an ability to adapt to different client situations and cultures, effectively flexing communication and working style accordingly
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strive for excellent quality control, instilling high standards in others
  • A results-orientated attitude, with strong analytical capabilities
  • Relationship development skills, including client management and networking
  • The ability to identify and capitalize on client challenges to drive new business opportunities with other team members
  • A drive to develop, as an individual, and have excellent collaboration skills to work within a team
  • Passion about science and healthcare, educated to a minimum degree level (life science being an advantage)
