The role

As a Senior Account Executive at AXON, your role will be to support and contribute to meetings and successfully and profitably run accounts with the support of the wider client services team. Alongside your Account Manager, you would be expected to become the first point of contact for your clients and ensure that you are always supporting their needs. The Senior Account Executive is one of the most important roles within the client services team: your role is to make sure we are the well-oiled machine our clients are looking for; to do this, we need to ensure that all internal processes are followed in a timely and accurate fashion – e.g. job creation, invoices, purchase orders, briefs and financial updates to the wider team. You will have a proactive and perceptive approach to internal and external relationships and be able to demonstrate diplomacy, enthusiasm, and honesty at all times.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Alongside the support of the team, you will be responsible for handling the day-to-day coordination of your accounts and communication with key clients, helping to build your relationship with your clients directly
  • Developing informed tactical briefs and managing the briefing process with copywriters and creatives for those projects
  • Involvement in the project development process by critically reviewing tactical copy/creative outputs against the brief, providing considered feedback to the team
  • The management of several projects at one time from initial client brief through to finalization, effectively prioritizing as needed
  • Contributing to brainstorms and creative ideation/workshop efforts
  • Independently developing detailed timing plans and estimates for a range of tactical projects, ensuring the team are aware of their responsibilities in delivering for the client
  • Owning the daily finances on certain projects, monitoring project activity, scope and spend
  • Identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities with clients, proactively bringing these to the attention of the senior team
  • Where opportunities arise, mentoring more junior team members of our early-entry program, ensuring they are adhering to the Creative Marketing standards, processes and best practices
  • Defending and elevating creative standards in all interactions

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum 1-year experience within an Account Executive role from a pharma marketing background
  • Understands the principles behind brand marketing and is able to apply this knowledge to their role
  • Understands the importance of the client to agency partnership and enjoys developing strong and trusting relationships with clients
  • Has a good understanding of the tactical development process from initial brief to execution of the final tactics
  • Is familiar with the suite of key tactical projects developed in pharma marketing (e.g. eDetail aids, leave pieces)
  • Has a good understanding of the technical design development process and the steps that need to be taken from initial concept through to final artwork
  • Is proactive in their approach and regularly forward plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and in budget
  • Flawless attention to detail and excellent quality control skills
  • Is a curious individual, comfortable to ask questions to better their understanding
  • A team-focused proactive person with a drive to develop, as an individual, and within a team
  • Is business-savvy and understands the basic financial aspects of the role and acts commercially
