With strong growth year on year over the past 5 years, AXON’s Real-World practice has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Medical Writer to join its dynamic, friendly, international team. Our industry-leading flexible working policy means you could be fully office-based, in London or New York, a hybrid worker, or even fully remote.
This is a chance to work on a wide variety of written deliverables, meetings, and stakeholder engagement programmes, across a diverse range of therapy areas. The team is at a particularly exciting stage in its growth and development at present, so there is tremendous potential for you to really make your mark.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- The creation of a wide range of documents, such as study protocols, study reports, publications and publication summaries, slide decks, and newsletters
- Involvement in the design & implementation of targeted and systematic literature reviews, as well as evidence reviews and gap analyses
- Content development for a wide range of meetings and stakeholder engagement programmes, such as steering committee meetings, advisory boards, and standalone educational meetings
- Successfully managing client relationships and providing effective counsel to clients and leading formal client meetings
- Review of team members work for style, strategy, content accuracy and data checking
- Mentoring, coaching and monitoring the long-term career development of staff

We have a keen focus on training and development and as a rough guide, suggest you aim to complete 37.5 hours of learning a year. Whether that be through online learning, classroom training, or attending external events; that’s one week a year dedicated to your development.
The ideal candidate:
- A medical writer or healthcare communications consultant, with experience of working in an agency environment, either medical communications, real-world research, or market access
- Keen to develop your already strong interest in Real-World Evidence (RWE), value communications, and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledgeable in a wide range of therapy areas, which will preferably include oncology, cardiovascular, and rare diseases, and able to get up to speed on new therapy areas quickly
- Seeking to further your senior review and mentoring and coaching experience
- An individual with flawless attention to detail and excellent quality control skills
- Proactive in your approach to planning, developing, and reviewing written deliverables
- A team-focused proactive person with a drive to develop, as an individual, and within a team
- From a strong scientific background, educated to a minimum degree level in life sciences (MSc/PhD advantageous)
