Southwark, London, 21 July 2015: AXON today announced its relocation from Richmond, Surrey, to a new central London location – 160 Blackfriars Road, Southwark. The move marks a pivotal moment in the firm’s history, as it brings AXON and Madano, the other London-based firm within the group, under one roof.

The two companies will continue to operate as independent businesses, but the move means both AXON and Madano will benefit from even greater depth and breadth of staff experience, and shared opportunities for growth, through training and personal development.

The office design was developed with significant input from both AXON and Madano team members to provide a space that drives collaboration, team work and creativity. Different work ‘zones’ allow flexibility for people to effectively deliver top-quality thinking and programming for clients, in informal and more formal settings.

Another key aspect for the new office was sustainability – AXON and Madano are committed to reducing their environmental footprints. To that end, a very conscious decision was made to choose materials that have the most sustainable futures, and with a particular focus on British made, where possible. For example, the beautiful new office carpets are made from recycled milk cartons and tyres, and after 10 years will be returned to the manufacturer to be re-purposed once more. In addition, tele-presence facilities were incorporated into all of the meeting rooms to help reduce travel, and there is easy access to recycling.

Thanks to innovative British designers and manufacturers, being environmentally friendly didn’t mean having to compromise on creating a space that feels stylish and welcoming. This feeling is further enhanced by a regular supply of baked goods (in an area lovingly known by staff as the ‘usual place’) and a bespoke ‘160 Blackfriars’ fair-trade Sumatran coffee blend that was developed by experts specifically to reflect the firm’s personality.
