AXON today announced two promotions within the agency’s London public relations (PR) senior management team. Natalie Turner, Director, has taken on the leadership of the London PR stream, taking over from Sam Barnes, who has been promoted to Senior Director. In his new role, Sam will be responsible for helping to expand the firm’s global healthcare PR and marketing communications footprint, including within the US.
Natalie has been with AXON for nearly 10 years and leads the agency’s focus in patient advocacy and grass-roots communications activities. Passionate about ensuring a better understanding of patients’ unmet needs and challenges, Natalie launched AXON’s PATH (Patients at the Heart) initiative three years ago and is a vocal champion of ensuring effective communications with and for patients.
Sam has been with AXON since 2010, during which time he has been a key driver in the continued growth of AXON’s PR stream. With more than 18 years of experience in strategic healthcare communications and marketing, Sam has provided strategic guidance and developed a range of innovative programmes, establishing himself as a trusted partner to his clients and colleagues alike. Earlier this year, Sam was recognised with AVENIR GLOBAL’s prestigious NATIONAL Way Award, which is given to the individual in the 550-person firm who best represents the firm’s values.
“Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to recognise Sam and Natalie’s accomplishments. They are both smart, fun, energetic, collaborative and driving forces in the company, and I consider myself lucky to have them on my senior team,” says Miranda Dini, Managing Partner of AXON’s European offices.
“As they take on these new responsibilities, I know they will continue to help drive the growth and diversification of our business, and bring new perspectives to the team here in London and globally.”
