London, UK – Today, AXON Communications launches the AXON Sustainability Group, a new offering to help the healthcare sector achieve and communicate progress in the area of sustainability. Alongside the launch, AXON has published a report outlining the vital role of the healthcare industry in delivering sustainable progress, and the services and expertise the AXON Sustainability Group can offer.

“As healthcare communications specialists, we are driven by science, and the science is clear: the world needs rapid and wide-reaching action to protect the planet, people and economies,” adds Lucy Hagger, Lead of the new AXON Sustainability Group. “It’s critical that the healthcare sector takes a leading role in this global priority, and therefore sustainable development needs to be integrated into the fabric of organisations – their objectives, operations and culture – and communications can facilitate and accelerate this change.”

The Sustainability Group blends AXON’s expertise across healthcare, sustainability and communications to offer a range of services that will help organisations deliver on their sustainability ambitions through driving employee engagement, changing perceptions and behaviours, influencing internal decision-makers and stakeholders, supporting inclusivity, hosting responsible events, and defining and measuring the impact of their communications, and much more. The group works with clients to strike the right balance between ambition and achievability.

“The events of 2020 have shown how crucial it is for organisations to demonstrate environmental and social progress, and to communicate their approaches in a way that resonates,” said Miranda Dini, Managing Partner, AXON Europe. “Wherever healthcare companies are in their sustainability journey, AXON can help them to effectively plan, overcome barriers to progress, drive behavioural change, and communicate their progress to internal and external stakeholders.”

AXON has taken a number of actions to improve and solidify its own environmental and social sustainability and continues to assess and seek to elevate its sustainability ambitions. AXON’s progress to date includes:

  • 100% renewable electrical power in London, Brighton, Copenhagen and Toronto offices
  • Zero waste to landfill in its London office
  • Paper, can and bottle recycling in 100% of AXON offices
