THE ASK
Gilead Sciences UK&I has a long-standing funding program available to healthcare and third-sector organizations seeking grants for projects that support local innovation and best practices in caring for people living with HIV, cancer, and liver diseases. They sought our support to broaden their reach within these communities, aiming to attract more applications across the UK and Ireland. Additionally, they needed assistance in establishing a robust internal management and approval process to oversee digital and third-party activities in collaboration with key therapy area (TA) leads.

OUR SOLUTION
- Rebranded the program for greater resonance and impact.
- Conducted a social listening exercise to identify the best channels for reaching prospective grant applicants within targeted communities.
- Introduced new and advanced digital tactics year-on-year to reach new audiences and broaden reach.
- Strategized direct and indirect third-party outreach activities to create a network of contacts that can be leveraged year-on-year.
- Held live events to provide a platform for showcasing exemplary projects by past award recipients.
- Established a clear communications plan for each therapy area to support the respective TA lead with material development and approvals, ensuring the program is delivered on budget and on time.
IMPACT
- Application numbers across TAs have increased year-on-year.
- Digital and third-party engagement metrics have increased by between 30-50% year on year.
- In the past year, 30,000 clicks and a total of 2.3 million impressions were achieved across LinkedIn and Google.
- 2x live events attended by more than 60 delegates, creating a unique networking platform to connect like-minded professionals and organizations.
- AXON has now supported the program for 4 years. TA leads have provided positive feedback on AXON’s performance and expressed their desire to continue working with AXON on future activities.
