PEOPLE NEED TREATMENT, CLINICAL STUDIES NEED PEOPLE—WHERE IS THE DISCONNECT?
At AXON, we spoke with 100+ Internal Medicine Specialists across the US to evaluate some of the barriers to having patients participate in clinical studies. Our research showed that doctors are not well informed, with 59% stating that they are not always up to date on clinical studies and 42% saying that they do not have time to find out.
We have examined the perceptions, assumptions, and barriers of the primary gatekeepers to clinical trial recruitment and retention, with some interesting knowledge gaps revealed!
